Streamyx Intranet: Malaysia BIGGEST liar
I have, virtually, NO internet connection at all with streamyx.
I need about 25 - 30 seconds to load Yahoo homepage these two days. i’m lucky if i can see the PayPal logo on PayPal homepage, PaidPerPost, digg, technorati, answer, wikipedia, and majority of the websites take forever to load.

Let’s see how TM Net Speedometer has to says?
Wuahhhh~ Speedometer tells me that i am running on full 1Mbps speed! look at the graph, i got 1026.07 831.2kbps for download and 386.0kbps upload speed!
Wait wait wait…. wait… if this is true, Yahoo homepage (which size less than 50k) should be loaded in less than a second, right? but how come that’s not the case on my PC? i can finish my whole cup of Yogurt and yet, Yahoo homepage is still not yet loaded on my screen!

Yeah right, 1026.07kbps my arse! to all streamyx users, dont let streamyx technician got their ass wiped clean on your Internet service problems! speedometer is a tool streamyx use to get rid of ppl who have slow connection.
Let me tell you why the speedometer says its 1026.07kbps while i can finish the whole cup of yogurt while waiting Yahoo homepage to load! all the speedometer test server are hosted in malaysia, which means, the speed is only accurate for local hosted website! soufulow dot come is hosted in malaysia, so loading speed should be lighting fast.
Try work out with any other speed tester online, try test your speed with server outside of malaysia, you’ll see how terrible streamyx service is! (remember i get 46kbps on my previous post at here?) 46kbps vs 1026.07kbps - that’s how much different for local and foreign website.
What does it means?
It means streamyx is an intranet service instead of Internet service. it means if you buy a car that can goes 110km/h in Perak, you can only drive around in that speed in perak - if you get out of perak, your car will slow down and can only let you to go in 4.5% of your speed, which is 4.95km/h!
If there’s an liar award in Malaysia, i’m very sure streamyx’s advertisement that claims they give 1Mbps internet speed is the biggest liar in Malaysia (along with speedometer that comes second)!
I am fucking angry right now with streamyx and dont tell me to calm down… i cant work, i cant login to my web accounts, i cant do FTP in the normal speed, i cant preview my changes in my webdesigns, and i cant do shit online right now unless i limit myself to work in local hosted website only. so how am i going to feed my dog and pay my taxes?

got salesman approach us in my company with waiving instatllation fees, but the demo 256kbp/s shows a bit slower, dunno whether its due to their old laptop problem or not. However, found that the main advantage are:
1)no need to pay RM26++ telekom bill, s
2)its mobile! you can carry the modem back to your home town and use it.
3)4 hours internal battery time after you take off the power rail.
i believe maxis will grow and beat tmnet very soon..

Do you really know what is “Intranet”? We never say 831.2 / 1000kbps is slow. It is VERY FAST. But you can get it in Malaysia only. Please read the whole post before you start commenting. You are like a blind man who touch the elephant tail and say, “Hey, the elephant is so small”.
We don’t need a sohai here who can’t even write proper Malay. And 1mbps = 1024kbps, not 1000kbps. And you can’t even differentiate between who and who (who is ahyap and who is soufu) and you don’t even know whose website is whose. How smart can you be? Just go away, we don’t need you here.

The only thing streamyx provided me was a service for me to vent my anger. Pick up the phone dial 1300889515 and scold the hell out of the operator whether she/he understand where im coming from or not..

@Baby: As said, the speed measured on Speedometer cant be used for reference coz it’s on a local server. the problem with streamyx is that the connection speed get screwed when we need to connect outside of Malaysia. you are using BT, how fast (or slow) is it?

hallo guys i tried the maxis broadband package the 384 mb which need to pay rm260= installation+registrations+1month fee well for the first week it was damn good all smooth and shit but when comes 2nd week its start degrading…. for example i try to download a 1.3mb file(dota map) but it take like 30minutes to complete Y_Y damnit lar…. anyone can help me with this? i tried call maxis but they ignore me like shit….

Its very simple if you understand the technical part of streamyx. Let say streamyx is a car, maybe ferrari which is very fast… It will take you guys maybe a short period of time if I asked you to go to any part of Malaysia… But I am sure it will take you a very long time if I asked you to go to US with the car (if possible eventhough I know its not). Can you tell me, why it will take you guys a long time to reach there? Will you throw all the blame to the car? Its ferrari guys!! Is it fair if you call the Ferrari call center and blame them for taking you a long time to reach US? Are you the one who will shout and nagging with them? I already wait more than 48hrs I still cant cant login to internet and received or call thru my phone den I call the FUcking 1800 xxx xxxx.. lol tm really got alot of 1800 line.. I call this the operator said this is diff department..then call this number 1800 again… .. then they said sorry we cant fix this for you you need to go back to the tm point and talk to the technical.. cibai.. I waste more than 1 and a half hrs to juz call fucking 1800 number… then the next morning I went to the tm point so this time they send me a technical but that technical is fucking lazy after that day nth from him already.. until 2 yesterday I complain to the 1800 again okay finally they send a technical mean to my house then okay finally I can use the internet already but FUCK it’s 80% slower than last time my package is 1mpbs but now it look like 56k speed fuck la.. then I rmb that tm got the speedo something but I dun have the real add so I write i n yahoo search then okay I finally got it..so i check mt internet speed fuck it just appear exactly what thread all about.
So I hope any sifu here can gv me some guide I just want to use streamyx to do my homework, search for info and sent my work to my lecturer >.

Frankly, the complaint rants wouln’t go so long if we really can do *something* on such screwed up situation.
Anyhow, here’s my humble suggestion on what you can do…
1. Getting the right Streamyx host
streamyx speeds rely on the IP you connect to nowadays. have a look on your current IP address (you can click here to check)… connection speeds are normally okay if your IP is 60.xxx.xxx.xx or 219.xx.xxx.xx. so what you can do is to keep shut off your modem and re-connecting till you get into the said IP. the method sounds unbelievable stupid but that’s how i solved my problem a few days back when i got an 214.xx.xxx.xx IP (the speed was so fucking slow and i couldnt even connect to squidoo.com!)
2. Get a private VPN service
Pay about RM30 extra and get faster speed with a VPN service on top of your streamyx connection. this is how you can speed up your connectiong with NO P2P speed throtle! the only problem is you need to pay extra on top of your Streamyx RM88 bill. Ah Yap used and suggested BolehVPN for such service and in case you need more guides, you can visit his blogpost on the matter:
